Synthetic Rubber is made by polymerizing a variety of monomers. Unlike natural rubber which is primarily polymerized isoprene, synthetic rubber can be one of many polymerized monomers or a combination of polymerized monomers yielding a variety of physical or mechanical properties. Given the industrialized nature of the process, the monomers purity and the level of additives are controlled very precisely to ensure the consistency, physical properties and processability are optimized.
There are many different synthetic rubber products available. Matexion Inc. distributes NBR ( Acrylonitrile-Butadiene), EPR ( Ethylene-Propylene), CR (2-Chlorobutadiene), EVM ( Eth-Vinyl Acetate) and HNBR ( Hydrogenated NBR).
